Florida State Seminoles vs. Boston College Eagles

Friday night we will get our chance here in Week 3 to see a Top-10 team take the field. Jimbo Fisher and the No. 9 ranked Florida State Seminoles will go on the road to take on Steve Addazio and the Boston College Eagles. As we saw last year when the USC Trojans went in there as a highly-ranked team, Chestnut Hill can be quite the dangerous place to play at night when you have national title aspirations.

Both teams are coming into this one at 2-0 on the year. Boston College is coming off a win last week over Howard, while the Seminoles earned a win over South Florida.

Keys to Victory

Florida State

After what we saw last weekend, if Florida State wants to come away with the win in this one then Everett Golson has to be consistent. He started off his tenure as a Seminole in a good way against Texas State, but against South Florida he was all over the place. That cannot happen on Friday night in Chestnut Hill, or the ‘Noles are going to come away not so happy when all is said and done. The passing game needs to take the next step here on Friday night.

Boston College

STOP.DALVIN. COOK. OK, that seems pretty impossible at this point and it actually is. However, that Boston College defense has to do everything in their power to contain him as much as possible. The passing game with Golson struggled against South Florida, but we saw how easily Cook can put this team on his back and lead the charge. You won’t stop him, Boston College, but do everything you can to make sure that he doesn’t go out of his mind again.

Odds

Point Spread: Florida State -7.5
Moneyline: Florida State -315, Boston College +285
O/U: 47.5

Prediction

This is Boston College … on a Friday night. Again, we’ve seen what can happen inside Alumni Stadium during a weeknight, just ask USC. The performance by Florida State last weekend was not all that flattering, which is something they need to get fixed in a hurry before kickoff.

Plus, the past two years, Steve Addazio just seems to have Florida State figured out, to a point. In 2013 they gave them a run for their money in the first half, but that FSU team just had too much talent. Last season, Boston College nearly pulled off the upset.

Friday night, Addazio will finally finish the job and get the win over Jimbo Fisher that he’s flirted with the past two seasons.

Final Score: Boston College 35, Florida State 31
