Troy Trojans vs. No. 24 Wisconsin Badgers
After an opening game loss to No. 2 Alabama, the Wisconsin Badgers picked up the pieces in week two and blew out Miami(OH), 58-0. The Badgers are now 1-1 on the season and hope to stay in the Top 25 for the sake of a somewhat-unlikely run at the College Football Playoff.
The win against Miami(OH) on Saturday afternoon wasn’t impressive when it comes down to quality of opponent, but any time a team can win by 58 points without arguably its best player is definitely worth nothing.
Junior running back Corey Clement missed the game, but that’s OK seeing as the Badgers’ starting quarterback, senior Joel Stave, has exceeded expectations this year, passing for 464 yards and five touchdowns. However, expect Clement and the ground attack to run wild against a mediocre Trojans rush defense.
Troy is just 1-1 on the season as the Trojans also lost their opening game. Troy is one of those rare teams which gives up more yards per game than it records, on average. For the Badgers, that’s great news as the Trojans allow more than 250 yards on the ground per game.
Don’t overlook the very accurate sophomore quarterback Brandon Silvers. In his second year as the starter, he is completing nearly 71 percent of his passes for 398 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions.
If the Trojans can succeed in the pass game, they will put up a solid fight.
