The Atlanta Falcons came from behind to beat the New York Giants and improve to 2-0.

31. 24. 44. Final. 20

The Atlanta Falcons opened the NFL season with a big win at home against the Philadelphia Eagles. In Week 2 they take on another NFC East team when they head north to play the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium.

This was a competitive game throughout, the two teams going back and forth. Tevin Coleman opened the scoring with a short run at the end of the first quarter for the Falcons. The two teams then traded field goals early in the second quarter.

The Giants finished the first half strong with a Odell Beckham Jr 67 yard touchdown pass and a field goal to take a 13-10 lead.

The Giants added another touchdown to tight end Larry Donnell to extend their lead to 20-10. The Falcons responded in the fourth quarter with two touchdowns of their own to take a 24-20 lead.

Three stars

  1. Eli Manning, QB, Giants – Manning had roughly 300 yards of passing, including two touchdowns to lead the Giants.
  2. Odell Beckham, Jr., WR, Giants – Beckham hauled in seven passes for 146 yards and a touchdown.
  3. Julio Jones, WR, Falcons – Jones caught a staggering 13 passes for 135 yards.

Highlights

The big play of the game was Odell Beckham’s 67-yard touchdown, but it wasn’t the only impressive catch he made on the day.

His touchdown was still incredibly impressive.

Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones also made an impressive catch of his own in what looked like an attempt to prevent an interception originally.

Odds

Giants (-3)

The Giants lost by four points so safe to say they didn’t cover, and bettors didn’t have enough faith in the Falcons after beating the Philadelphia Eagles.

Next Week

Next week the Falcons continue their road trip against another NFC East team, the Dallas Cowboys.

The New York Giants will stay at home next week, welcoming the Washington Redskins to MetLife Stadium.
