Wide Receiver Sleepers Week 1

Brandin Cooks-New Orleans Saints (FD-7,400, DK-7,000): Cooks is outside the top ten receivers on both FanDuel and DraftKings, but I think he’s lined up for a top-ten performance as I explained in my top 40 WR Rankings which came out yesterday.  He’s going to be a target monster, and I think he’ll tear up the Bucs’ suspect secondary.

Jarvis Landry-Miami Dolphins (FD-7,100, DK-5,900): Another mid-range play I really like this week is Jarvis Landry who takes on the Jags this week.  He led the Dolphins with a dozen targets week one and caught eight passes for 53 yards.  He didn’t find the end zone on any of those catches but did return a punt for touchdown.  Against Jacksonville, Landry should continue to get a ton of passes, but I think he’ll find plenty of room to break a few long ones and finish the day as one of the better values on the board.

Terrance Williams-Dallas Cowboys (FD-6,300, DK-4,200): My top waiver wire pickup is a great value this week as the Cowboys try to make up for the loss of Dez Bryant.  Williams will be the team’s top receiver as the Cowboys face the Eagles in what could quickly turn into a shootout at 4:15 this afternoon.  Williams has huge potential based on his increased role, but he’s never been the team’s top receiver before so there is risk involved in starting Williams as well. At his price, though, I think he’s worth the risk for his huge upside.

Donte Moncrief-Indianapolis Colts (FD-6,000, DK-4,600): If you don’t mind waiting until Monday Night Football for some production, check out Colts’ WR Donte Moncrief who could be in for a ton of work especially if T.Y. Hilton is unable to play or limited in his effectiveness due to his knee injury.  Moncrief was targeted 11 times in the Colts’ opening week loss to the Bills catching six passes fro 46 yards and a touchdown.  He’s in a tough matchup, but he looked like he could be starting a breakout season in week 1.

Tyler Lockett-Seattle Seahawks (FD-5,000, DK-3,400): Lockett had a big week one partly due to a punt return for a touchdown. He was involved in the offense as well, though, catching four passes for 34 yards. As his offensive opportunities grow throughout the year, the rookie receiver will continue to make a nice play.  This week against the Packers, the Seahawks will need some offensive production, and Lockett again will have the opportunity to produce a solid value fantasy day.

Brandon Coleman-New Orleans Saints (FD-5,000, DK-3,300): In the Saints week 1 loss to Arizona, Drew Brees’ only touchdown throw went to Brandon Coleman who has the size to be a consistent red zone option for the Saints all season.  He finished the game with four catches for 41 yards to go with his TD and was targeted seven times.  As the Saints come home to take on the Bucs, look for Coleman to stay very involved in the passing attack as he tries to be a consistent contributor this season.

Marquess Wilson-Chicago Bears (FD-4,500, DK-3,400): If you are looking for an ultra-cheap option who should be involved in his team’s attack, check out Marquess Wilson who should get some added attention with Alshon Jeffery out of today’s matchup with Arizona.  Wilson caught both passes he was targeted on in week 1 going for 59 yards.  He is definitely not a lock to produce anything in a tough matchup, but the opportunity should be available to him since he’ll be the team’s second WR today behind only Eddie Royal who struggled mightily in week 1.

Week 1 Picks: Vincent Jackson, Charles Johnson, Davante Adams, DeVante Parker, Kamar Aiken, Tyler Lockett
