The Indianapolis Colts are losing 7-0 on Monday Night Football in the second quarter against the New York Jets, but things might be looking up. Colts free safety Mike Adams was able to snag a ridiculous interception off of Ryan Fitzpatrick, who tried to go deep for Brandon Marshall.

Fitzpatrick has bee trying to go long throughout the evening but has not enjoyed any success. This time, the former University of Harvard star went for broke, but cornerback Vontae Davis broke up the pass before Adams came over, closed and made the toe-tapping pick.

Adams has really come into his own since joining the Colts. The veteran safety began his career in 2004 with the San Francisco 49ers, before moving on to the Cleveland Browns after three seasons. Adams spent five years by Lake Erie before joining the Denver Broncos from 2012-13, then moved onto the Colts. Last year was the first time Adams was able to reach the Pro Bowl, notching a career-high five interceptions.
Adams needs to be special this year because the Colts have all kinds of injury issues in the secondary. The cornerbacks have been decimated by health problems, with Greg Toler, Dβjoun Smith and Darius Butler all inactive on Monday night with various injuries.
Currently, Adams and Davis are the only two notable players in the secondary for Indianapolis. Considering the pass rush is nothing special, it is on this duo to make something happen on defense.
