The Indianapolis Colts caught a break with wide receiver T.Y. Hilton expected to suit up on Monday night versus the New York Jets.

The Indianapolis Colts received a scare during Week One when wide receiver T.Y. Hilton left the opener with an apparent knee injury. However, the team received some good news on Monday morning when it learned that Hilton would in fact suit up for their Monday night game against the New York Jets., according to NBC Sports.

Hilton suffered a bruised knee during the Colts opening loss to the Buffalo Bills, leaving the field during the fourth quarter with an unknown knee injury. Originally, the prognosis was two or more weeks, but as it became clear the injury was nothing more than a bruise, he became a game-time decision through most of the week, with Coach Chuck Pagano holding out hope that his biggest threat would be on the field.

Apparently his prayers were answered as Hilton has been cleared to play and will be starting for the Colts on Monday night. That’s a significant turnaround, considering he didn’t return to practice until Saturday.

Before leaving on Sunday, Hilton caught seven passes on 14 targets for 88 yards, an average of 12.6 yards per catch. He remains the biggest threat in the Colts’ offense, coming off his second straight season with 82 receptions, tallying 1,345 yards and seven touchdowns in 2014 after putting up 1,083 and five touchdowns the year prior.

The Colts are hoping that their fourth-year wide-out can be even more productive in 2015. With the addition of Andre Johnson on the opposite side of the field, Indianapolis believes it will be able to isolate Hilton further in 2015, opening him up to bigger opportunities downfield.

Of course, the return of Hilton is also a boon to fantasy football owners. While many had to make their choices prior to Monday due to having to set their line-ups on Sunday, there will remain those that held the line and will benefit from having him in the line-up against New York.

It still remains to be seen just how much he will play on Monday night, but his presence alone will certainly help the Colts against a touch Jets’ pass defense.
