UCLA linebacker Myles Jack will miss the remainder of the 2015 college football season. On Wednesday morning Jim Mora announced that Jack has suffered a serious knee injury and will be shelved for the rest of the season.
Jack becomes the latest in a string of season-ending defensive injuries for the Bruins, joining cornerback Fabian Moreau and lineman Eddie Vanderdoes.

Jack stormed onto the national scene in 2013 as a two-way player, winning both Pac-12 Offensive and Defensive Freshman of the Year honors that season. That season he recorded 38 carries, 267 yards rushing and seven touchdowns to go along with 76 tackles, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries.
In his sophomore campaign Jack was used less on offense, but still posted three touchdowns and 113 yards from the backfield. He also upped his defensive presence by tallying 87 total tackles. In both his freshman and sophomore campaigns, Jack was awarded Second-team All-Pac-12 honors.
Saturday’s game between UCLA and Arizona will be featured as College GameDay’s game of the week. Entering the season it was supposed to be a showcase of the conference’s two best linebackers: Jack and Arizona’s Scooby Wright. However, Wright was injured in the Wildcats’ season-opener, has missed the team’s subsequent games and is questionable for the showdown in Tucson.
Myles Jack ends his junior campaign with nine tackles and one interception in three games. Speculation will now turn to if he decides to turn pro or return for a senior season.
