These five NFL teams should be on high alert for their Week Three matchups

Injuries are undoubtedly the biggest storyline heading into Week Three of the 2015 NFL season. Tony Romo, Jay Cutler, Drew Brees and Eddie Lacy were just some of the big names injured in Week Two action and are just a few of the players that could miss Week Three. As a result, there could be some major upsets in store for the third slate of games this season.

Even without injuries seriously shaking things up, there were some shocking upsets in Week Two. For instance, rookie Jameis Winston walked into the Superdome and led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers past the New Orleans Saints. Then there’s the fact that the Washington Redskins had their way with the St. Louis Rams. Oh yeah, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Oakland Raiders also won professional football games.

There’s no real need to harp on how bad both the Raiders and Jaguars have been in recent years; that’s common knowledge for any football fan at this point. All that needs to be said is that Week Two is the first Sunday that both the Jaguars and Raiders have won on the same day since Week Three of the 2012 season, per Pro Football Reference (both teams won in Week 16 of last season, but Jacksonville played on Thursday that week). Essentially, you witnessed history with those two teams scoring upset victories last week.

Week Three is almost certain to hold another slate of upsets this week. Not only are there a handful of teams that we are still trying to figure out just how good or bad they are this season, but things have just been completely bonkers through the first two weeks of the season. Throw in the injuries to major players that keep piling up and the stage is once again set for major upsets.

Again, upsets come in many shapes in colors. It could be as simple as a bad team knocking off a good team due to a matchup. There could be a team that’s the underdog in terms of odds that will overcome that and get a victory. Or it could be a team that has a good record through two weeks of the season falling to a team that hasn’t had much success to this point.

Whatever the case or however the upset arises, these are the five teams that should be put on upset alert heading into Week Three of the 2015 NFL season.
