Arizona head coach Rich Rodriguez confirmed reports that Scooby Wright will play against UCLA
The Arizona Wildcats certainly had a chance to knock off the UCLA Bruins on Saturday night with the team they’ve had out there for the first three games of the 2015 college football season. However, Arizona head coach Rich Rodriguez confirmed that they’ll have an added advantage with the return of one of the best defensive players in the country, Scooby Wright.
Wright suffered a knee injury in the Wildcats’ season-opener, but avoided an ACL tear and was ultimately diagnosed with a slight tear in his meniscus. His earliest return date was for this week and Rodriguez confirmed reports from Friday night on College GameDay that Wright will be suiting up for Arizona:
As just a sophomore last season, Wright established himself as one of the most prolific and dominating defensive players in the country. 164 total tackles, 31 tackles for loss, and 15 sacks will certainly do a lot for making opposing offenses aware of your presence on the field.
There are going to be two offenses in this game with the capability to put a ton of points on the board. Subsequently, defensive stops could be at a premium and could ultimately decide this game. With Wright back, the Wildcats may have gained an edge in trying to vault atop the Pac-12.
