Trevone Boykin had one of the best games of his career, but it was just barely enough to beat Texas Tech on the road.
The TCU Horned Frogs was expected to come into this game and destroy Texas Tech on the road, but that was hardly the case. The Horned Frogs and Red Raiders had an unbelievable battle that came down to a fourth down and goal for TCU with under a minute left and the Red Raiders just couldn’t stop a fluke tip in the end zone.
Trevone Boykin had one of the best games of his career, throwing the game-winning touchdown with under 30 seconds remaining. Boykin finished the game with over 450 yards and four touchdowns through the air, while his running back, Aaron Green had the game-winning touchdown catch in the back of the end zone.
Take a look at the stars and the highlights for the primetime matchup.
Three Stars
Trevone Boykin finished 34-of-54 for 485 yards and four touchdowns. He was clutch throughout and showed just why he’s a Heisman favorite. Boykin also had 42 rushing yards.
DeAndre Washington was an absolute monster for Texas Tech, rushing for 188 yards and four touchdowns on 22 carries.
Josh Doctson had himself quite the game as one of the country’s top receivers, catching 18 passes for 267 yards and three touchdowns.

Odds
TCU was a five-point favorite in this one, but it was so close throughout that even that slim margin by Vegas just wasn’t a solid take for anyone who picked the Horned Frogs.
Next Week
TCU will head back home to host Texas in week five. The Longhorns are not quite at the level Charlie Strong wished they would be at in this point during his tenure, but they are far from a pushover. Another conference loss will likely put the Longhorns completely out of the race while the Horned Frogs head into week five with a 4-0 record.
Unfortunately for Texas Tech, the Red Raiders will follow up a contest against the No. 3 team in the country with one against the No. 4 Baylor Bears also at home. The Red Raiders have shown they can hang with anyone as the offense looks great and a win against Baylor could really silence all the doubters.
