Adrian Peterson found paydirt on Sunday for the first time since the 2013 season.
Another week, another hurdle cleared for Adrian Peterson during his comeback season. On Sunday against the San Diego Chargers, Peterson scored a touchdown for the first time since 2013.
With the Vikings facing a 2nd and goal from the two-yard line, Mike Zimmer dialed up No. 28. Peterson collected the ball from Teddy Bridgewater, dropped his shoulder and powered through the right guard for the two-yard score. The play put Minnesota up 10-0 on the Chargers.

Peterson’s rushing touchdown was his first since a road contest against the Green Bay Packers on November 24, 2013. In that game, Peterson rushed for 146 yards and a touchdown on 32 rushes. He failed to score for the rest of that season, and then sat out in 2014 due to legal issues regarding child endangerment.
The run against San Diego was Peterson’s 12th carry and gave 46 yards on the day (3.8 ypg). He’s shouldered the load for Minnesota’s offense while Bridgewater battled early inconsistency in the contest.
