A look at the college football Week 5 AP Poll that was released on Sunday following the action of Week 4

Week 4 in the world of college football was most certainly something that we did not see coming. Everyone was convinced coming in that this would be one of those weeks where not much excitement would take place. It was quickly proven to us just how wrong we all were, as it was one of the more exciting weeks that we have seen all year. Because of this, there is some shakeup in the AP Poll rankings.

The win that probably shocked everyone was the Utah Utes over the Oregon Ducks. It wasn’t so much the win, as we knew that Utah was a good team, rather it was how that won and the location. This Utes team went into Autzen and they came away with the 62-20 win, just drubbing the defending conference champs as they handed them their second loss of the season. With the win, the Utes should be making a pretty significant jump in the rankings.

We then have the case of the TCU Horned Frogs and Ole Miss Rebels, who came into the week tied for the No. 3 spot in the AP Poll. Both teams struggled against their “inferior” opponents, so it’ll be interesting to see how the voters will handle this one.

Well, just a short time ago, the rankings were released. Here’s a look at the AP Poll for college football as we head into Week 5 of the season.
