Team Defense Sleepers Week 1

Carolina Panthers (FD-4,600, DK-3,100): While they’re not exactly sleepers, the Panthers aren’t at the top of the salary chart either which makes them a good value at this point.  When the pricing first came out Drew Brees was expected to play for New Orleans, but with Brees out instead the Panthers get to face a much less intimidating Luke McCown. They’re sure to be a popular pick, but they’re still a good one.

Atlanta Falcons (FD-4,300, DK-2,900):  Coach Dan Quinn has his defense headed the right way even though there is still a ways to go.  This week, they get to take on Brandon Weeden who is starting in place of Tony Romo, so the matchup makes them an option worth considering this week.

Tennessee Titans (FD-4,200, DK-2,900): The Titans followed up their 15 points week 1 with just a single point against Johnny Manziel and the Browns in week 2.  They should be set up to bounce back, though, this week in their home opener as they take on a suddenly turnover-prone Andrew Luck and the Colts. The fact that the game is in Nashville makes them worth a flier.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (FD-4,100, DK-2,500): The Bucs D is bad, but there’s actually a shot that the Texans offense could be worse. Houston has struggled to pick a QB and is still without Arian Foster, so if you are forced to go ultra-cheap, the Bucs matchup makes them a feasible flier.

Week 1 Picks: Arizona Cardinals, New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Falcons
