Jeremy Maclin caught the Chiefs first touchdown by a wide receiver since 2013 and Twitter roasted them

The Kansas City Chiefs have never been a completely incompetent football team. Yes, Andy Reid makes questionable coaching decisions from time to time. Yes, Alex Smith is also known as the worst superhero of all time, Captain Checkdown. But they were still vying for a playoff spot last season and have shown promise at times this season.

However, their biggest venture into incompetency over the past season and a half has been their amazing feat of not throwing a touchdown pass to a wide receiver. That’s no a hyperbolic statement, either; the Chiefs didn’t throw a single touchdown pass to a wide receiver last season and, coming into their Week 3 Monday Night Football matchup against the Green Bay Packers, they hadn’t done so in 2015, either.

They changed that at the end of the third quarter against Green Bay.

Smith found Jeremy Maclin in the redzone and Maclin crossed the goal line in one glorious moment. Angels sang, trumpets sounded, and Chiefs fans everywhere rejoiced in their small triumph. While they were rejoicing, though, Twitter was busy having a field day:

It must be hard being a Chiefs fan. At least Twitter has the jokes to hopefully help you crack a smile through the pain.
