Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is on a mission to put together another MVP-caliber season, and he has made his lofty goals for 2015 clear.

However, ESPN reports that the 2012 MVP promised that he will not ask for a heavier workload from Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner.
"“I don’t request anything. Turner’s been doing it a long time. He’s a legend. He’s made some good adjustments. I can’t tell him what to do. He’s been doing it a lot longer than me,” Peterson said."
Peterson has backed up his claim by leading the NFL in rushing, as he quickly put a sluggish Week 1 performance behind him. Turner has also proven to be a solid offensive coach, as he has helped quarterback Teddy Bridgewater develop in his first year.
Although his stint as the San Diego Chargers‘ head coach proved unsuccessful, Turner is also helping prolong Peterson’s career even at age 30, which is considered old for running backs.
After running for just 31 yards in a loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Peterson has broken the 100-yard mark in each of the last two games. Peterson has a total of 291 yards along with two touchdowns so far this season, which puts him on pace to rush for nearly 1,600 yards if he can maintain his current pace.
However, the All-Pro running back will face the ultimate test on Sunday as the Vikings face the Denver Broncos. The Broncos have one of the toughest defenses in the NFL, as they currently rank first in total defense and have only allowed 82.6 rushing yards per game.
The Vikings will likely have to lean on Peterson, as the Broncos also rank first in pass defense, which may spell doom for quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. Bridgewater has been underwhelming throughout the 2015 season, as he only thrown one touchdown pass against two interceptions while throwing for just 505 yards.
