Rookie Breshad Perriman will be missing a significant amount of time

The Baltimore Ravens’ 2015 woes continue, as they will be missing wide receiver Breshad Perriman for an indefinite period of time. According to NFL.com, the Ravens’ 2015 first-round pick has undergone PCL surgery and will have to delay his NFL debut until further notice.

The Ravens have started their season with an 0-3 record, and they have suffered key losses on both sides of the ball due to injuries. Outside linebacker Terrell Suggs suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in a heartbreaking season-opening loss to the Denver Broncos.

Perriman has been unable to step up as the deep-threat receiver the Ravens have desired, as he has limped throughout the offseason with a PCL injury. Matters became worse for the speedy wide receiver after he aggravated his PCL injury in pre-game warmups on Sunday.

Insult to injury was added after the Ravens’ 24-21 lead against the Cincinnati Bengals was lost in the final two minutes.

Steve Smith is being left as the Ravens’ only reliable receiving weapon, and tight end Maxx Williams is being thrown to the wolves. Starting tight end Crockett Gillmore is nursing a thigh injury, and the Ravens’ second-round pick will receive the start on Thursday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Running back Justin Forsett will look to overcome a sluggish start, which has contributed to the Ravens having the 27th-ranked rushing offense in the NFL with 72.7 yards per game.

Fortunately for the Ravens this week, the Steelers are dealing with a short-handed roster of their own since quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is out with a knee injury.
