High Value Wide Receivers

James Jones (5,300): I’ve been down on Jones this season as touchdown-dependent, but I’ve changed my thinking after last week’s impressive game against Kansas City.  Jones was much more involved outside the red zone finishing with seven catches for 139 yards and still getting a touchdown as well.  With Davante Adams still dealing with his ankle injury, Jones should again be more involved in the Packers passing attack in a tasty matchup against the 49ers.

Pierre Garcon (5,300): Garcon will be a great value this week especially if DeSean Jackson is still sidelined as Washington faces the Eagles.  Garcon has seen no shortage of targets this year with eight, seven, and 12 in the first three weeks, but he has only found the end zone once and totaled 161 yards.  Last year, he ripped the Eagles for 11 catches, 138 yards, and a touchdown in one of their two meetings in a game also started by Kirk Cousins.  Garcon will look to exploit the Eagles’ beatable secondary again this week and is a good value option especially if Jackson is out.

Rueben Randle (4,500): With Victor Cruz looking unlikely to be ready to play this week, Randle should be extremely involved in the New York passing game again this week in a good matchup against the Bills who have allowed the third-most fantasy points to opposing WR this season. Randle finished with 116 yards and a touchdown on seven catches last Thursday, but he has struggled with consistency in the past, so he’s still a high-risk play for Draftkings week 4.

Marvin Jones (3,800): Jones has emerged as the Bengals second WR across from the dynamic A.J. Green and is also in that really nice matchup against the Chiefs.  He has a touchdown in each of his last two games and caught five passes on eight targets for 94 yards against the Ravens last week.  He’s definitely one of Andy Dalton’s trusted red zone options and can continue to grow into a fantasy factor with a big week this week against the Chiefs.

Leonard Hankerson (3,700): Hankerson has been the Falcons’ second wide receiver this season and has passed Roddy White in terms of targets the last two weeks.  He only had three catches for 45 yards last week, but he still was the second option on the team which means he could be a nice producer as he finds space across from Julio Jones who will get plenty of coverage against Houston this week.

Ted Ginn Jr. (3,400): Ginn continues to be a nice value since he’s the top WR in Carolina and he has a good matchup this week against the Bucs.  He has put together back-t0-back solid games with 14.1 and 13.3 DraftKings points.  With Jerricho Cotchery still sidelined, there will be plenty of passes coming Ginn’s way, and he still has the big-play potential to go off if he breaks a long one.

Seth Roberts (3,000): If you have to go ultra-cheap at a WR spot, the option that I think makes sense as a sleeper is Seth Roberts who has stepped up as the Raiders third WR. He has a touchdown each of the past two weeks and had three catches for a solid 56 yards against the Browns last week.  While he’s still a roll of the dice, at this price he has the most upside among the minimum-cost WR.

Week 3 picks: Allen Robinson, Donte Moncrief, Rishard Matthews, Ted Ginn Jr., Andrew Hawkins
