The No. 9 LSU Tigers will continue their quest to vault themselves into playoff contention, but that will have wait at least two weeks as they will beĀ facing an inferior competitor in Eastern Michigan.

However, Tigers fans have other things to be excited about, as CollegeSpun reports that LSU will be wearing their purple uniforms for their upcoming game. Although Oregon may be best known for donning fancy uniforms, LSU may be giving them a run for their money in that department.

They will be wearing their purple uniforms for the first time in the 2015 season. The Tigers last wore their purple uniforms in a 2014 match against University of Louisiana-Monroe. This edition of a LSU uniform features the main part of it being purple with gold stripes on the shoulders to go with the usual gold helmets.

The Tigers have looked like contenders to win the SEC title thus far, as running back Leonard Fournette has emerged as the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy.

The sophomore running back rushed for a whopping 244 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries. LSU currently holds a 3-0 record after starting out the season with a match against McNeese State being cancelled. They only trail Ole Miss in the top 25 rankings among SEC West teams, as the Rebels are ranked third in the nation.

LSU and Ole Miss will face each other on Nov. 21, but LSU will be looking to get through opponents like Eastern Michigan, South Carolina and Florida first.

Fournette will look to continue his furious Heisman campaign and showcase himself as a surefire first-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, as he will not be eligible in 2016.
