An Orlando bar will be pouring free beer until UCF wins.

If you live anywhere in the Central Florida area and feel like getting blotto on the cheap Saturday afternoon, then you’re in luck, compadre. The Basement Bar down near Lake Eola will be pouring free beer every UCF game until the Knights can actually string together a winning performance.

UCF has looked downright awful this year, and ran its winless streak to 0-4 last week against South Carolina. In any of the four contests, the Knights have failed to score more than 15 points – a number they reached in abysmal, one-point home losses to Furman and Florida International.

Who knows, maybe they’ll get off the schneid against a Tulane team that is nearly as bad. The Green Wave were anemic on offense in their first two games before exploding for 38 agains the Maine Black Bears two weeks ago.

No word yet on what style of beer is being poured at Basement, but does it really matter? It could be water off the strap of a boot and the stuff is still free-99.

Here’s a life pro tip from an expat: suck the kegs dry at Basement, hit the Circle K for a roadie, and then have Uber take you over to Hard Knocks on I-Drive. It’s a realistic laser tag joint that’s equal parts Facility (from the N-64 game, Goldeneye) and arcade classic Area 51. It sounds corny, but once you’ve had a few in you it’s a hoot.

Real question is: do UCF students just root for a winless season at this point? All is basically lost. Might as well capitalize on the free booze.
