Coming into the 2015 NFL season, many people were high on Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colts. Some even pegged them as legitimate Super Bowl contenders, especially after almost making it to the promised land last season. However, at least to start, this team looks far from a Super Bowl contender as they’ve started the season 1-2.
But, despite that poor start, those blue and white Colts jerseys are still flying off the shelves pretty well.
According to the DICK’S Sporting Goods Jersey Report, which reflects sales both nationwide and online, the Colts are still the No. 7 overall team as it pertains to tops sales, and Luck ranks No. 4 as it stands with individual players.
As you can see, that lead they hold in the AFC South alone is pretty wide.
The Colts and their jersey sales will be interesting to watch as the year goes on, especially considering that we’re only in Week Four of the season. If the team continues to underwhelm, what will the trend look like then? Luck is also reportedly dealing with a shoulder issue, so if he misses an extended period of time for one reason or another, what will his standing look like with the individual players in the next few weeks?
There certainly are a lot of things that could happen here. But, for now at least, despite the fact that they’re not off to the start that everyone imagined they would be, the Colts are still bringing in the money as it pertains to the sales of their jerseys on a regular basis.
