Ohio State WR Corey Smith goes down with leg injury vs Indiana
By Jack Crosby
The Ohio State Buckeyes may have suffered a big loss on Saturday in wide receiver Corey Smith against Indiana
The Ohio State Buckeyes are having a pretty tough time on Saturday against the Indiana Hoosiers on the road, which has pretty much been the story of their season thus far. However, things might be getting a little worse going forward for the offensive side of the ball with the loss of Corey Smith.
In the third quarter of this one as Indiana was up 17-13, Smith went out to the edge to give a block for Curtis Samuel. At some point during the play, Smith went down and he was attended to by both the Indiana and Ohio State trainers. After they looked him over for a bit, they put an air cast on the leg and he was carted off the field.
Losing Smith for a significant amount of time with this injury isn’t the most backbreaking thing in the world, as coming into today he only had four catches for 40 yards. On Saturday against Indiana, before the injury, he tallied one catch for 22 yards.
Still, though, with the way things have been going for this team, they really can’t afford to be losing anyone on the offensive side of the ball.
As more becomes available about the injury to Smith, we’ll keep you updated.
