Iowa Hawkeyes vs. N0. 19 Wisconsin Badgers
Wisconsin started the season with a loss to No. 2 Alabama, but since that ugly defeat, the Badgers are 3-0 and looking more like a top-15 team, even without star running back Corey Clement.
Clement was expected to be a stud, filling in for a departed Melvin Gordon this season, but he has been out and just recently had surgery to repair a hernia and will likely be out at least a month while freshman Taiwan Deal is proving his worth, earning the right to be considered the next man up.
On the young season, Deal has 62 carries for 290 yards and four touchdowns while filling in for Clement. Joel Stave has also been impressive to begin the year, passing for 830 yards, seven touchdowns and just two interceptions all while looking like a completely new and improved quarterback.
Iowa has been a bit of a surprise this season. Not many people expected the Hawkeyes to start the year 4-0, but this group of guys might be more talented than people have really given them credit for.
C.J. Beathard, like Wisconsin’s Stave, has been looking much more solid and reliable than he was last year since Jake Rudock transferred to Michigan. Beathard has passed for 962 yards, six touchdowns and just one interception.
Both teams have eerily similar defenses as both give up about 290 yards per game. Moreover, both teams allow most of their yards, 210 per game, through the air.
