The Ohio State Buckeyes will rock an all-black uniform for their October 17 night game against Penn State

The Ohio State Buckeyes are the latest team to unveil a new alternate uniform. Rather than rocking their whites or scarlet jerseys when they take the field on October 17 against the Penn State Nittany Lions for a night game in Ohio Stadium, the Buckeyes will be wearing an all-black color-scheme for the first time ever.

Nike Football unveiled the new look on Saturday morning, two weeks before the Buckeyes face off with the Nittany Lions. It’s all black from helmet to pants with bold scarlet letters and a silver outline:

This is definitely a new look for Ohio State, and is so far from the norm that it will probably make people second guess whether or not they’re actually watching the Buckeyes in two weeks. That being said, these are absolutely beautiful; I’ve always been a fan of all-black color schemes and the scarlet and silver really make the black pop with these.

Ohio State was going to have an advantage over Penn State in virtually ever facet of the game when they meet up on October 17. Now they’re going to have another clear advantage in the style department, for whatever that’s worth on the gridiron.
