Twitter was predictably ready to talk about the ridiculous Baylor-Texas Tech over/under and how it wasn’t high enough
The Baylor Bears and Texas Tech Red Raiders are two of the most potent offenses in college football this season and two programs who, simply, don’t exactly put a ton of emphasis on the defensive side of the ball. Subsequently, their matchup on Saturday started with a record-breaking over/under at kickoff: 90.5 points at most sports books.
People were already going crazy over that number, but that only got worse once the action started. The Bears and Red Raiders did nothing but score in the first half of their game and ultimately ended up with 70 combined points in the first half. As you might expect, this led to people on Twitter losing their collective mind:
Ya so people are gonna cash out on the O/U on this Baylor game it should of been set at 189.5 lol

Was the O/U 90.5 just for Baylor?

Texas Tech-Baylor on pace for 168 pts. 90.5 as O/U looks like a speck of sand on a giant gambling beach. #TTUvsBU #Big12

Was that 90.5 o/u for both teams.. or just Baylor? Iowa & Wisconsin could play all day and might not have the points/yardage from that 1st q

Baylor-Texas Tech over/under was the highest ever and they will almost reach it by halftime.

The general consensus seems to be that 90.5 wasn’t nearly high enough for this game and the first half does nothing but prove that point. However, one fan ventured to guess the most important question regarding Baylor and the Big 12:
I don’t know if it’s going to be one million, but I think it’s pretty safe to say that the over/under when Baylor and the TCU Horned Frogs meet up will be somewhere in the triple digits. That game is going to have all of the points, even more so than Saturday’s Baylor vs. Texas Tech matchup.
