The Indianapolis Colts will be without Andrew Luck against the Jacksonville Jaguars due to a shoulder injury
Andrew Luck was limited in practice for the Indianapolis Colts on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday leading up to their matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. However, the belief amongst fans and much of the media seemed to be that the quarterback would be in action come Sunday afternoon. It turns out that belief was ill advised, as Luck will be out of action against the Jags.
Luck will miss his first career NFL game on Sunday with a shoulder injury that he suffered in Week 3, as reported by ESPN’s Chris Mortensen:
Andrew Luck will not play today, per a team source.

Starting in Luck’s place for the Colts will be veteran Matt Hasselbeck. At 40 years old, Hasselbeck will be the oldest quarterback to start an NFL game since the legendary Brett Favre started games at 41 years old. Hasselbeck will have the newly signed Josh Johnson behind him on the depth chart against Jacksonville.
Luck and the Colts have been off to a poor start over their first three games of the 2015 season with the quarterback suffering from turnover woes and the Colts earning just one victory to this point in the season. As they try to climb out of the hole they’ve dug themselves early, this is probably the last news that they wanted to receive—even if they’re only up against the Jags.
