Atlanta Falcons running back Devonta Freeman has been surprisingly fantastic this season while capitalizing on a Tevin Coleman injury.
The Atlanta Falcons were forced to go to overtime with the Washington Redskins after a 52-yard field goal by Dustin Hopkins, but they were able to survive and extend their record to 5-0 thanks to a pick-six by cornerback Robert Alford.
However, Falcons running back Devonta Freeman ultimately kept the game alive after showing incredible persistence in the red zone to put a stranglehold on his starting running back job. The second-year running back was denied on his first attempt to score, as he appeared to have a touchdown catch. He was shown to have caught the ball and even broke the plane, but the referees inexplicably called it an incomplete pass.

The former Florida State running back refused to lose though, and the Falcons decided to utilize him once again as he plowed through a whopping five Redskins defenders for a six-yard touchdown with 24 seconds left.
What happens when Devonta Freeman has a TD taken away?

He runs through 5 defenders for another one. Oh my. #WASvsATL http://t.co/kYNnfUp6p3
Freeman finished with a total of 153 rushing yards and a touchdown on 27 carries. The defense also came through, as Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins threw two interceptions, including the game-winning pick-six.
The Falcons continue to look like legitimate Super Bowl contenders since they now have a 5-0 record, and they will look to continue their somewhat surprising success against the struggling New Orleans Saints in Week 6.
