Charcandrick West-RB-Kansas City Chiefs (0.3%)

West is going to be the hot name on every waiver wire this week since multiple sources have him as the back who will primarily take Jamaal Charles’ substantial workload.  The second-year player out of Abilene Christian didn’t have an NFL carry until week 4 of this season, but he could emerge as one of the better RB2’s the rest of the season if he can step in to fill Charles’ sizable void.

West had seven carries on Sunday finishing with 31 yards while adding a catch for five yards in the Chiefs’ loss. After Charle’s departure, he out-touched Knile Davis (2) and De’Anthony Thomas (3) who both will see an increased role as well.

West is far from a sure thing since he has only 12 career carries for 48 yards, but the opportunity in front of him will set him up to be the most targeted pickup this week.  His ownership is sure to jump, and even if you don’t have a pressing need in your backfield, he can be added as trade bait.  In Kansas City’s offense which features the running back so prominently, West will be worth RB2 consideration as son as this week as the Chiefs travel to Minnesota to take on the Vikings.
