Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson now says he is the “Michael Jordan of football” after initially comparing himself to LeBron James.

Earlier this year, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson compared himself to Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James, the undisputed best basketball player in the world at this very moment.

Now, roughly two months after making that comment, Peterson is amending it and essentially giving himself higher praise.

“I’ll say I’m the Michael Jordan,” Peterson said, according to Adam Teicher of ESPN. “There’s always the debate, would LeBron be better than Michael? So I’ll say I’m the Michael Jordan of football.”

Thr new comparison comes after a bit of a debate with Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles over who is really the LeBron James of the NFL, Charles making the claim at the beginning of August. Peterson in a great move of trolling, said he’d let Charles have the LeBron title and take Michael Jordan instead.

Unfortunately, both players won’t be on the TCF Bank Stadium field in Minneapolis this weekend to make their cases on the field. Charles suffered a season-ending injury last weekend after cutting in a non-contact play.

Either way, aren’t they both kind of wrong. Running backs are so expendable now, and the quarterback is the true star.
