After Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles called himself the LeBron James of the NFL, Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson responded by saying he is the LeBron James of the NFL.

Jamaal Charles and Adrian Peterson are two of the most talented running backs in the National Football League. They also both think they’re the “LeBron James” of the NFL. That doesn’t mean they’re crossing over opponents and draining it from deep, they both think they’re the best player.

Charles raised eyebrows when he first compared himself to the NBA great. So when Peterson was asked on the sideline Saturday night about the comment during the Vikings preseason game, he naturally responded by saying he thinks he is the LeBron, the best in the league.

Based off Peterson’s comments, you can tell he in no way meant it as a knock on Charles. In fact, he loved it that Charles thinks highly of himself and believes that all players should think they’re the best in the game.

Now rings aside, James and Peterson are generational talents that can put the team on their back. Both are physically gifted freaks and both are surefire Hall of Fame players one day.

As for Jamaal Charles, he is a very talented running back, too, who can bust open the big play and thinks of himself as the best. Depending on his season, he might stake a claim in the battle of becoming the “LeBron” of the NFL.

As of right now, Peterson thinks he is the best, while Charles feels the same way.
