Saints’ Michael Mauti blocks Falcons punt, returns it for touchdown (Video)

The New Orleans Saints are not playing around on Thursday night and they proved that with this blocked punt
The Atlanta Falcons are undefeated and the New Orleans Saints clearly have some issues they need to address. That being said, it should be pretty simple work for the Falcons on Thursday night to take care of their division rivals, right?
Yeah, well, this is the NFL and things are not always that easy. It’s especially not all that easy when one of the teams are coming through on special teams, like the Saints clearly are on Thursday night.
In the first quarter of this one the Saints already sort of shocked everyone by taking a 7-0 lead following a Mark Ingram touchdown. Well, later on in the same period, they added to the lead and they did so in the most dramatic way.
The Falcons were forced into a punting situation and the Saints wanted them points right then and there. So, Michael Mauti came right through and blocked the kick attempt, a block which was recovered by Mauti himself for the touchdown and the 14-0 lead.
Such an amazing play, but it also carries a good bit of significance. Now, some of you might ask why this play is so significant.
Well, because this man is in attendance.
If you don’t get the significance here, then you’d better hurry over to YouTube immediately.
