Texas A&M came into this game as an underdog against Ole Miss while both teams were looking to avoid a second straight loss.

It was one of the more forgettable games of sophomore Kyle Allen’s young career as the Texas A&M Aggiesā€˜ quarterback completed just 12-of-34 passes for 88 yards and an interception as he was benched late in the game by fellow sophomore Jake Hubenak.

This was the second straight loss for Texas A&M and this marks back-to-back seasons in which the Aggies started the year red-hot and struggled through some turbulence at the halfway mark.

As for the Ole Miss Rebels, it’s hard to tell how good they really are after defeating Alabama earlier in the season on the road, then getting blown out by Florida and then losing in huge upset fashion to the Memphis Tigers. This win might just make college football fans more confused.

Chad Kelly didn’t exactly have the best game for the Rebels on the other side of the field, throwing three interceptions and passing for less than 250 yards.

Three Stars

Laquon Treadwell had the most impressive game offensively for the Rebels, catching five passes for 102 yards and a touchdown.

Can you believe I am going to name Ole Miss’ kicker the second star of the game? Well, Gary Wunderlich scored half of the Rebels’ points, making 3-of-4 field goals and two extra points.

Jaylen Walton was solid in the run game, finishing with 22 carries for 77 yards for the Rebels.

Highlights

Odds

Ole Miss came into the game as a six-point favorite and the over/under was 66.5 points. Hopefully you picked the under as the two teams really struggled to reach the end zone, combining for just 26 points while the Rebels covered the six-point spread.

Next Week

Ole Miss will travel to play a struggling Auburn Tigers team which is coming off a rough triple-overtime loss this week. A win would be expected, but a loss to the Tigers could be devastating.

Texas A&M hosts South Carolina in week nine, looking to make a serious impression on the rest of the SEC. Much like Ole Miss’ matchup next week, this one should be an expected win for the Aggies.
