Stefon Diggs-WR-Minnesota Vikings (43.8%)

Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner has a history of making young, vertical-threat wide receivers into powerful fantasy weapons (see Vincent Jackson, Josh Gordon, and Michael Westbrook).  Turner looks like he might be up to his old tricks this year with Vikings’ rookie receiver Stefon Diggs who has burst onto the scene and is quickly becoming the top Minnesota receiver and establishing a solid connection with Teddy Bridgewater.

Diggs didn’t play at all the first three weeks of the season before being forced into action week 4 against the Broncos. He finished that game with six catches for 87 yards while being targeted ten times.  After the Vikings bye week in week 5, Diggs has remained in the lineup and posted back-to-back games with over 100 yards.  This week against the Lions he caught his first NFL touchdown laying out to haul in a bomb from Bridewater and finishing with 108 yards on six catches.

In each of the three games he has played, Diggs has been targeted at least nine times and already leads the team in receiving yards. He has caught eight passes for at least 20 yards while no other receiver has more than two catches for that length and the whole rest of the team combined only has eight passing plays that long.

If you need receiving options going forward, Diggs is the best widely available option, and he should be set up for success in Turner’s offense for the next several weeks.  This week, the Vikings face the Bears secondary which has been a mess lately making Diggs a very good WR2 play for week 8. He’s been on my lists of sleepers and pickups for the last few weeks and continues to deliver.
