As we hit double-digits in the weeks in the NFL season, contenders are starting to separate themselves from the pack just like they are in fantasy football. Whether your team is sitting pretty like the Bengals, Patriots, and Panthers or struggling for a playoff spot like the Steelers, Colts, and Eagles, making the right additions can make all the difference. Even if you’re team is struggling, that probably will give you higher priority to get some of the best pickups who can make an instant impact for you.
Some of the best pickups this week are coming off bye’s in week 9 when six teams took the week off. In week 10, we’re back to a normal four-team bye week as the Falcons, Colts, Chargers, and 49ers are set to enjoy an open date on the calendar this week. If you normally rely on any players from those four teams, you may need to find a replacement on the waiver wire week 10.
To help you find the top pickups, each Tuesday on Fansided I list my top 10 waiver wire targets. Before jumping into the top 10 for week 10, let me remind you of a couple guidelines. First, I only highlight players who are available in over 50% of ESPN leagues (ownership percentages as of Monday night included in parentheses). Players like Derek Carr, Jeremy Langford, DeAngelo Williams, Darren McFadden, Stefon Diggs, and Charcandrick West have been featured in this space before, and if they’re still somehow available in your league they’re really good pickups. However, I can’t include them in this post since they are too owned at this point in the season.
Each week I include at least one quarterback, one running back, one wide receiver, one tight end, and one team defense in my list. To see deep league pickups or “honorable mentions” for my top ten, scroll to the final slide of this post where you’ll find more options for each of those positions.
