Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens hits theaters in December, but New York Knicks rookie Kristaps Porzingis has already awoken some fans before then

New York Knicks rookie Kristaps Porzingis has already captured the hearts of Knicks fans everywhere and become an NBA sensation in just nine short NBA games.

There were real concerns that the seven-footer was going to struggle in his transition to the pro game, specifically on defense. Although New York has started 4-5, they have been ultra-competitive in each contest this season, and Porzingis has a lot to do with that.

The 20-year-old Latvian has already provided us filthy animals with MULTIPLE highlight worthy plays, including a monstrous put-back dunk against the Toronto Raptors and this almost buzzer-beater from across the Atlantic in the Knicks’ 95-93 loss to the Charlotte Hornets Wednesday night.

And somehow, that pales in comparison to this gem. What could be better than Porzingis, you say? Star Wars? Yeah, Star Wars is pretty awesome. Hey, what if there was a way to combine the majestic Porzingis with the pageantry of Star Wars?

Here it is:

The video does a great job at incorporating Porzingis at his best with a hint of the new Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens‘ trailer. After 10 years, Star Wars fanatics everywhere have been dying for a potentially new awesome trio of sequels that could replace the sour taste that the most recent trio of “prequels” left behind. There is also no doubt that Porzingis’ stature seems like he came legitimately right out of a Star Wars script. He’s THAT unbelievable.
