Orlando Magic center Jason Smith refuses to be dunked on. Minnesota Timberwolves guard Shabazz Muhammad had to find that out the hard way.

The Orlando Magic and Minnesota Timberwolves were in a middle of a spirited game. With the score at 64-59 in favor of the Timberwolves, Timberwolves guard Shabazz Muhammad thought he could drive to the rim to make it a seven-point game. There was just one huge obstacle in his way: Jason Smith. That was an obstacle that Muhammad could not overcome because Smith refused to be dunked on.

Smith is 7’0″. Muhammad is 6’6″. Sorry Muhammad, you’re not going to win that battle. Ever.

Jason Smith has been a physical force in the paint off the bench for the Magic. The eight-year veteran has found a spot as a reserve center for the Magic. He is averaging 5.7 points and 2.3 rebounds per game in 11.7 minutes per game in six games entering Wednesday’s action. He is also averaging 0.8 blocks per game entering Wednesday’s game. That number will rise after that denial of Muhammad. He’s accepted a bench role with the Magic and is doing well in limited time.

The Orlando Magic are 5-6 this season while the Timberwolves are also 5-6. Muhammad is averaging 8.9 points per game and 2.7 rebounds per game for the Timberwolves.
