These five NFL teams should be put on upset alert in Week 11

There have been 10 weeks of NFL action in the 2015 season and everything still feels like mass insanity. Just when it appears that a team is one of the best in the league, an injury occurs or they go completely ice-cold and get upset. Contrarily, just when it seems like teams are absolutely abysmal and have no chances of winning, they come out and get a win over a far superior team.

Monday Night Football in Week 10 was a perfect example of the craziness currently consuming the NFL. The Houston Texans came into their matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals with almost no one around the league expecting them to put up much of a fight against the then undefeated Bengals. Then, JJ Watt and the Texans defense delivered their best performance to date this season, Andy-Dalton-playing-under-the-lights-in-primetime showed up, and the Texans handed Cincinnati their first loss of the season in a grueling affair.

Houston seems to be hitting a surprising midseason stride, something their AFC South cohorts in the Jacksonville Jaguars can attest to. After starting the season 1-5, the Jaguars have gone on to win three of their last four games—including a win over the Tennessee Titans in Week 11 on Thursday Night Football—and are now in contention to bewilder all of the NFL and make it into the postseason.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, there are teams like the Green Bay Packers. The Packers started the season 6-0, but have since fallen into a major rut. There’s no doubt that the low-point came just last week as they suffered their third consecutive loss in a matchup with the cellar-dwelling Detroit Lions. In Week 11, they’ll be on the road against a Minnesota Vikings team that has been rolling as of late. If ever there was a time that Green Bay needed to bust out of this slump, it’s this week.

Perhaps this is the norm and fans are just more perceptive to it this season, but the feeling that anything can happen is more alive in the NFL at this point in the season than it ever has been before. No team is bulletproof, or rather upset-proof.

With a number of teams that have had success through the first 10 weeks in potentially tough matchups this week, the chances for seeing major upsets are as high as ever in Week 11. However, these are the five NFL teams that, without question, need to be put on upset alert this week.
