Prior to exiting the game Freeman looked primed to have a monster day. In only three carries, he netted 43 yards – a robust 14.3 yard per carry. With him out, the Falcons now call upon backup Tevin Coleman and Terron Ward.
Through nine games this season Freeman has amassed 721 yards on 164 carries (4.4 ypg) and recorded nine touchdowns. He also has 420 yards and two touchdowns in the receiving game. Freeman started off the season slowly, and then went on a tear from late September through late October – four 100+ yard games, including 141 and 153 yard performances against the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Redskins respectively.
Atlanta and Indianapolis were tied at 0-0 in the first quarter when Freeman went down. As of post there have been no reports as to if, or when, he will return to the playing field.
