4) New Orleans Saints – Mickey Loomis

What is there to say about New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis. Yes, Loomis did win a championship last decade, but his ridiculous cap management has let this team go to hell in a hand basket. Loomis has defied conventional wisdom of working with some cap space, continuing to extend aging stars at insane prices. Once Drew Brees leaves the Saints which could be at the end of this season, they will be a rancid dumpster fire for years. Why? Because Loomis has kept pushing money into the future with major cap penalties being added on by the day.

Ultimately, Loomis is trying to keep the team playing well in the current form with the knowledge that it will be absolutely awful for the next decade once somebody does the sensible thing and blows it up. At 5-8, it is pretty obvious to even the casual Saints fan that something is not working well in the Big Easy. Loomis has been irresponsible with the franchise’s future and it will end up being a complete disaster for New Orleans. Hopefully, Loomis’ successor can come in and clean up the financial situation, much like Reggie McKenzie had to do in Oakland.
