The Atlanta Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars played a tight one down in DUVAAAAAAL
52. 23. 44. Final. 17
Coming off a disgusting, horrible, terrible, gutless, very bad defeat to the Carolina Panthers in Week 14, the Atlanta Falcons decided to get off the bus and actually play football on Sunday. What had the potential makings for a blowout turned into a competitive contest between the Falcons and Jacksonville Jaguars.
Atlanta’s offense shot out of the gate like a cannon and took them into the half, 17-3, before the defense gave way and the Jags fought back to tie things up in the third. Speaking of the Jaguars, their offense had been en fuego over the past two weeks but looked lame for most of Sunday’s game. Touchdown factory Blake Bortles struggled to get into a rhythm, which was largely due to the fact that the team had no rushing game to speak of. They tried to make a run late in game, but six fourth-quarter points by the Falcons locked things up for Atlanta and helped wash away the taste of last week’s defeat.
For the Jags, it’s a stinging loss, considering that the AFC South was still well in hand, but now looks a little more out of things.
Three stars
Allen Robinson: As long as he keeps catching touchdowns, Robinson gets the nod (3 rec, 57 yards, 1 TD).
Julio Jones: 9 receptions, 118 yards, 1 TD
Paul Posluszny: 10 tackles (9 solo), 2 tackles for a loss, 1 INT.
Highlights
