A lot of old people dabbed on Sunday (Video)

The Dab is dead after old people decided to be young for a day.

The movie Hook is all about an adult Peter Pan rediscovering what it’s like to be young again and having a child-like state of mind. You can’t take yourself too seriously in life, and even in old age you need to stoke young coals within you if you want to be happy.

That’s what we saw across the NFL on Sunday afternoon as old people all over the place were channeling their inner young person and indulging in ‘The Dab’.

The dabbing action was kicked off by Falcons owner Arthur Blank, who dabbed after Atlanta upset the Carolina Panthers 20-13 on Sunday.

Not to be outdone, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid celebrated the team clinching a playoff berth on Sunday by also dabbing.

And what would a Sunday of dabbing old people be without the ’72 Dolphins trolling the Panthers with some dab action.

To be fair, Don Shula’s son is the offensive coordinator for the Panthers, so he was rooting for Carolina to go 19-0. But if you thought that was the all the Day of the Dab had in store, you were very much mistaken. Detroit Lions owner Martha Ford seemed to indulge in the dance craze as well — although it’s still unconfirmed whether she was dabbing or just releaved the Lions didn’t lose.

This either means this is the end of the dab as we know it, or this is just the beginning of the end. The Hotline Bling was a thing until Donald Trump did it on SNL, effectively killing the craze. While none of the above mentioned people are belligerently insane, if you gather up enough old people doing a young person thing, it’s going to inevitably become less cool.

That’s of course assuming the dab was cool in the first place.
