Denver Nuggets vs Golden State Warriors

Starting the season 11-14, the Denver Nuggets were within striking distance of eighth place in the Western Conference standings. It was a decent position to be in while the Nuggets figured some things out as a team, but they have since lost seven of eight games and are looking about as lifeless as any team in the league.

Like many of the teams in the league near the bottom of the conference standings, Denver is very young. Kenneth Faried, Gary Harris, Will Barton, Danilo Gallinari and Emmanuel Mudiay should gel together as a solid bunch over the next few years and this franchise might be a season or two away from making the playoffs.

Without Steph Curry, the Golden State Warriors are just 1-1. Not to say this team isn’t good without its MVP player, but it’s definitely not as dominant. Starting the season 24-0, the Warriors looked absolutely unbeatable, but two losses in the last eight games have brought them back down to earth a bit.

Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala, Harrison Barnes and Klay Thompson still round out one of the most talented teams in the NBA’s recent history, but Steph plays a big role in this team’s journey for a repeat.
