With the news that AJ Styles is finally headed to WWE, will the Royal Rumble be the first time that we see him?
There’s not a question that AJ Styles has been one of the most talented professional wrestlers on the planet for the last decade or so. However, the problem that a lot of people have been having is the fact that he has never worked under contract for WWE. With Styles not getting any younger, there were some out there who just gave out hope altogether.
On Monday night, though, they were not only given that hope back, but they were given news that they had waited a long time for. Styles, along with a few other major stars from New Japan Pro Wrestling, are indeed making their way to WWE.
This news was further proven recently when Styles was ousted as the lead of the Bullet Club at the New Year Dash show for New Japan.
So, yes, it’s all finally happening and one of the best wrestlers in the world will soon be on the biggest stage the business has to offer. With that being the case, though, now everyone’s mind is turning to when he will show up. Of course, since it’s early January, the question needs to be begged as to whether or not he will be a surprise entrant in the Royal Rumble match in a few weeks.
That … that is actually a possibility.
After he was beaten down by his fellow Bullet Club members, Styles got up and bowed to the Japanese crowd that was joyously chanting his name, which really could be taken as a sign that he was saying goodbye. From the looks of it, he’s ready to make the jump to WWE right now.
When you look at all the factors involved here, yes, it is a possibility that AJ Styles will come out for the 30-man match that will decided the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. As for WWE being worried about Styles not getting a reaction? Well, the event is taking place in Florida, where he worked for years as a staple of TNA Wrestling on a regular basis. Plus, at events like the Royal Rumble, you tend to have some smarter crowds in attendance, so folks not knowing who he is really shouldn’t be all that much of an issue when you think about it.
Now, it’s all up to WWE to book it that way so we actually have a Royal Rumble surprise that we all can get excited about.
