Here are my FanDuel NBA Picks for January 7th:
Next: There Are Bargains At PG

Point Guards:
Best Bet:
Isaiah Thomas, Celtics ($8,100): Thomas showed no ill effects last night from a sprained thumb, so he should be good to go again tonight. He has not been below 28 FanDuel points since December 15th. He has also played more than 30 minutes in all nine games since then. He is a solid play in all formats right now.
Jordan Clarkson, Lakers ($6,100): Clarkson has topped 25 fantasy points inĀ nine of his lastĀ eleven games, and isĀ averaging 29.9 FanDuel points over his last five games. If you canāt afford Thomas, or donāt trust him, Clarkson is the most reliable option of the rest of the heap.
Honorable Mention:
Derrick Rose, Bulls ($6,300): Rose is no longer an elite player, but at this price you only need 25 FanDuel points to get 4x value. That alone makes him worse taking a shot on in a light night. He just might win you some cash!
Darren Collison, Kings ($5,600): Collison shined with Rajon Rondo out on Tuesday night. Rondo is questionable again tonight, but why would the Kings push Rondo against the struggling Lakers? They likely wont. Even if Rondo plays, it wont be his full compliment of minutes. That makes Collison a good value play again.
If Youāre Cheap:
Trey Burke, Jazz ($4,900): Burke is seeing right at 30 minutes per game over his last six games. The only one of those games in which he struggled was against Memphis. In all of the others, he has had at least 22 FanDuel points. He is a strong play because he is eclipsing 4.5x value on most nights.
Patrick Beverley, Rockets ($4,300): Beverley is still the starter, but he doesnāt always produce. He is a risk even at this price, but on the nights that he has played at least 28 minutes, he has gone got between 4.5 and 6x value. Trying to predict when he will get the minutes is hard to do though.
My picks: Collison and Burke
Next: Is There A Cheap Option At SG?

Shooting Guards:
Best Bets:
James Harden, Rockets ($9,900): His awful showing against the Spurs on Saturday helped drive his price back under $10,000, but that is the exception not the rule. Harden has been above 36 FanDuel points in every other game since December 1st.
Jimmy Butler, Bulls ($8,500): Butler is streaky, and right now he is on quite a roll. He has been above 40 FanDuel points in each of his last four games, averaging 47.1 points over that span. If you can swing both him and Harden, you will be hard to beat tonight.
Honorable Mention:
Rodney Hood, Jazz ($5,600): Hood struggled against the Spurs last night, but he played the Rockets on Monday night and had 34.7 FanDuel points against them. He is a strong bet to do that again in Houston tonight.
Lou Williams, Lakers ($5,500): With Kobe Bryant nursing a sore shoulder, Williams has absorbed more minutes and has responded with a healthy 34.5 FanDuel point average over his last four games. Bryant remains questionable, and if he is out again, Williams is approaching must-play status.
If Youāre Cheap:
Marco Belinelli, Kings ($4,300): Belinelli has become a vital part of the Kingsā rotation with the rash of injuries that have hit the team. He has responded with 29 FanDuel points per game over his last four. Keep playing him, especially if Rondo sit again.
My picks: Harden and Butler
Next: Who Are The Best SG Options?

Small Forwards:
Best Bets:
Gordon Hayward, Jazz ($7,600): The whole team bordered on terrible last night against the Spurs, but Hayward still had decent numbers. He still has not been below 26 FanDuel points since before Christmas, and he is facing a Rockets team that he put up 35.9 on back on Monday. He is the best option at SF tonight.
Rudy Gay, Kings($7,100): Gayās production is down from where we are used to seeing him. He has onlyĀ topped the 30 FanDuel point threshold since December 28th, and has only been there three times in his last nine games. However, if Omri Casspi is out again tonight ā and it is looking like he will be ā look for Gay to pick up some of the slack. Gay racked up 38.5 FanDuel points on Tuesday with Casspi on the bench.
Honorable Mention:
Jae Crowder, Celtics ($6,200): Crowder is about as consistent as they come. He has not been below 20 FanDuel points since November, and he has only been under 30 twice in his last nine games. He is producing against everyone. Who can say no to sure points?
Evan Turner, Celtics ($5,700): The absence of Avery Bradley has opened things up for Turner, who has played 27 minutes or more in each of his last five games. With Bradley still out, Turner is a strong bet to extend his streak of 25 or more FanDuel points to six.
If Youāre Cheap:
Nikola Mirotic, Bulls ($4,800): Mirotic has seen his playing time tick upward lately, and he has responded by averaging 30 FanDuel points a game over his last three. That is nearly 7x value!
My Picks: Crowder and Turner
Next: Do You Need To Spend On Pau Gasol?

Power Forward:
Best Bets:
Pau Gasol, Bulls ($8,900): Gasol has been a monster over the last two games, racking up 100.3 FanDuel points. He may find the going a little tougher against Boston, but do you really think Kelly Olynyk, Amir Johnson, and Jared Sullinger can shut him down? The way he is playing right now, I doubt it.
Paul Millsap, Hawks ($8,500): Millsap has been over 42 FanDuel points in four of his last five games. He is a strong bet to do it again against Philadelphia, providing he sees enough minutes. The latest rage in the NBA is to rest players against inferior competition, so make sure you keep an eye on the starting lineups before adding Millsap to your lineup.
Honorable Mention:
Nerlens Noel, 76ers ($6,300): His production has tapered off some, but he still has gone over 25 FanDuel points in each of his last 7 games. That makes him a 4x value at worst, which is something that can propel you into the money.
Taj Gibson, Bulls ($5,400): Gibson continues to see plenty of minutes with Joakim Noah out. He has been over 22 FanDuel points in every game since Noah went down, and has even gone over 30 three times in that span. He is still a great value at this price.
If Youāre Cheap:
Larry Nance, Lakers ($4,300): Nance has seen an uptick in minutes over his last five games, and has responded by averaging 25 FanDuel points in that span. If he keeps getting run for the Lakers, which he should, he is a terrific bargain. Just temper your expectations against the Kings, who are strong on the interior.
My picks: Gasol and Gibson
Next: Who Is The Best At C?

Center:
Best Bet:
DeMarcus Cousins, Kings ($10,400): āBoogieā had huge nights against the subpar interiors of the Thunder and Mavericks over the last two games. He put up 125.7 FanDuel points in those two games. Donāt be surprised if the eclipses 60 again against the Lakers, who have no one to provide much resistance to one of the leagueās best big men.
Honorable Mention:
Dwight Howard, Rockets ($8,000): Howard put up 34. 1 FanDuel points against Utah on Monday. Look for him to continue his strong play once again. He is a suitable plan B if you canāt afford Cousins.
If Youāre Cheap:
Jeff Withey, Jazz ($4,700): Withey has been a great play with both Rudy Gobert and Derrick Favors out. He has scored at least 30 FanDuel points in four of his last six, and has played more than 30 minutes in all of them. You wonāt find a better bargain tonight!
My Pick: Withey
