Ricky Rubio and Andrew Wiggins connected for this nice play during Saturday night’s game.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are having another down year despite having some of the NBA’s best young talent in Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns. Ricky Rubio has also been there over the years during this rebuilding process. The team sits at 13-31, which is one of the NBA’s worst records. They could conceivably get the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft and take stud freshman Ben Simmons. How crazy would that be?

Before they can get to that, there is still months left in the NBA season and even a game on Saturday night for the Timberwolves, who faced the Memphis Grizzlies at home.

During the 1st quarter, Rubio and Wiggins would connect for this sweet pass and lay-up to put their team up 13-10.

Very nice work there by Rubio and Wiggins. While the Spanish point guard isn’t having the best season on the scoring sheet, passes like that are what gives him big minutes.

As for Wiggins, he is continuing to blossom for Minnesota, upping his scoring from last season by 4 PPG (16.9 in 2014-2015, 20.9 in 2015-2016). He may also work his way into the All-Star game, which is being held in Toronto, Canada. The former Kansas star is one Canada’s best NBA talents in the league. Whether he’s able to get there as a reserve remains to be seen.
