Point Guards:

Best Bets:

Stephen Curry, Warriors ($11,300): The only player that has come anywhere close to DeMarcus Cousins in terms of January production is Curry. He hasn’t had that elusive 70 point FanDuel game yet, but he did hit 69 against the Pacers last Friday. He has only one game under 50 FanDuel points in his last seven. It’s rare when a player of this price can get 4x value. Curry is averaging 5x since January 13th.

Chris Paul, Clippers ($10,100): Remember the good old days when Paul’s price dipped below $8,000 earlier this year? Me too. He won’t be there again. With Blake Griffin suffering a……ahem……setback, Paul will have to continue to do what he has been doing. Which is averaging 48 FanDuel points per game with Griffin out. That is above 4.5x value.

Honorable Mention:

Kemba Walker, Hornets ($9,200): Walker has put up 70 FanDuel points twice in his last five games. Cousins is the only player that can claim the same thing. However, Walker has also been below 30 once in that span. That is a pretty big risk to take at this price, but his matchup against Utah is a good one on paper. 50 is attainable tonight if you don’t feel like paying for one of the top tier guys.

Isaiah Thomas, Celtics ($8,300): His minutes have taken a slight hit (about three per game) with the return of Marcus Smart, but Thomas’s production is still up. He is still right at his season average of 35 FanDuel points per game, which makes him a solid 4x value. That could creep even higher tonight against the rebuilding Nuggets.

If You’re Cheap:

Patrick Beverley, Rockets ($4,400): In his two games back since missing four games with a sore knee, Beverley has put up 52.7 FanDuel points. That is well over 5x value. If you need to go cheap, Beverley is a great option.

Archie Goodwin, Suns ($4,100): With Brandon Knight already ruled out for the rest of the Suns’ current road trip, people are going to be tripping over themselves to get to Goodwin. And with good reason. Goodwin has put up 61.3 FanDuel points in two games with Knight out. He is the best value play anywhere tonight.

My picks: Curry and Goodwin

Next: Is There A Cheap Option At SG?

Shooting Guards:

Best Bet:

James Harden, Rockets ($10,600): Harden has put up 241.2 FanDuel points in just his last four games. That is an average of over 60 per game! He has a tougher matchup tonight against the Spurs, but the return of Beverley has really helped Harden out. The hot shooting of Trevor Ariza has given defenses something else to account for, giving Harden even more good looks. He just might be worth it yet again!

Andrew Wiggins, Timberwolves ($6,800): It’s unfair to list the second year phenom here alongside Harden, but the consistency of Wiggins this season makes him worth a look at this price. He has been between 26.7 and 42.9 FanDuel points in every game in January, making him a low-risk proposition if you can’t afford Harden.

Honorable Mention:

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Pistons ($5,800): KCP has enjoyed more than 22 FanDuel points in seven of his last eight games. He is hot right now, and is facing a Philadelphia team that more resembles a D-League team lately. Look for Pope to light it up once again!

Rodney Hood, Jazz ($5,600): Hood has averaged 28.4 FanDuel points over his last five games, making him close to a 5x value. He is doing enough in the counting columns lately to make up off shooting nights as well, which is a change from earlier in the year. He is a low-risk option with the upside to put up over 40 on any given night. Will it be tonight?

Jeremy Lin, Hornets ($5,400): Lin has played an astounding 90 minutes over the last two games, and responded with 79.4 FanDuel points. That’s right folks. That is nearly ten times value, which is unheard of at any level. Can he keep it up against Utah?

If You’re Cheap:

Devin Booker, Suns ($4,500): Booker has been getting between 25 and 40 minutes per game since Bledsoe went down, but he is mostly dependent on his shooting to be successful. Booker doesn’t offer much else, so if he goes cold, he won’t get you anywhere near what you need from him. Then again, he has played 40 minutes per game since Brandon Knight went down as well. That gives him plenty of court time to get you value.

Troy Daniels, Hornets ($4,100): With both Jeremy Lamb and Nicolas Batum out, Daniels has made the most of his opportunities. He only has value if both of them sit again tonight since Jeremy Lin would likely eat more minutes than Daniels if only one sits. If they are both out though, Daniels makes a great low priced option.

My picks: Hood and Caldwell-Pope

Next: Should You Play LeBron or Durant?

Small Forwards:

Best Bets:

Kevin Durant, Thunder ($10,200): Durant has been very consistent this year. He is right at his season average of 44.1 FanDuel points per game in his last ten outings as well. You always know what you are going to get from him. 4x value. If you want low risk at a high price, Durant is just that.

LeBron James, Cavaliers ($9,900): The King is back holding court again after a few lackluster games. James has put up 148.4 FanDuel points over his last three games, so it appears safe to spend on him once again. Is he the wisest place to spend your money? Probably not, but SF is a weaker position.

Honorable Mention:

Gordon Hayward, Jazz ($8,200): Hayward has averaged 38.4 FanDuel points over his last nine games, not slipping below 30 in any of them. He is averaging about 4.7x value lately. He is a great option of you don’t want to pay for Durant or James.

Chandler Parsons, Mavericks ($6,400): It took a bit for Parsons to get back to his old self, but it’s safe to say he is there now. Parsons has averaged 41 FanDuel points per game over his last four, and is showing no signs of slowing down.

If You’re Cheap:

Trevor Ariza, Rockets ($5,900): Ariza is shooting the lights out lately, racking up 88.1 FanDuel points in just two games. The Spurs will likely put up a little more resistance, but given that he only needs 26.6 FanDuel points for 4.5x value, he is still a great value.

Robert Covington, 76ers ($5,100): Covington had fallen out of the rotation for a couple of weeks from Christmas until the first week and a half of this month, but he has worked his way back. Since January 10th, Covington is averaging 27.3 FanDuel points per game. He appears safe to use once again, and is putting up a little over 5x value lately. Can you beat that elsewhere?

My Picks: Parsons and Ariza

Next: Do You Need To Spend On Draymond Green?

Jan 21, 2016; Sacramento, CA, USA; Atlanta Hawks forward Paul Millsap (4) looks on during the fourth quarter against the Sacramento Kings at Sleep Train Arena. The Sacramento Kings defeated the Atlanta Hawks 91-88. Mandatory Credit: Ed Szczepanski-USA TODAY Sports

Power Forward:

Best Bets:

Draymond Green, Warriors ($9,300): Green has seen his number drop since a scorching December, but he is still in the mid 30’s every game. If you value consistency, Green is still worth a look, even at this price, though he is no longer a lock to get you 4x value.

Paul Millsap, Hawks ($8,900): Millsap is averaging 42.2 FanDuel points over his last twelve games, and that is with two of those clocking in at under 30 (29 and 28.4). Millsap is a low risk option because of his upside, even at this price.

Honorable Mention:

Nerlens Noel, 76ers ($6,400): The re-emergence of Robert Covington and Jerami Grant has left the Philadelphia rotation somewhat in flux yet again. What that means is that you never know who will fall out of favor in any given game. Noel’s upside should still keep him on the court at least 25 minutes per night, but he inconsistency makes it hard to rely on him. That said, with the size that Detroit has in the front court, Noel should see plenty of minutes if he can stay out of foul trouble.

Marvin Williams, Hornets ($5,300): Williams still throws a clunker out there every once in a while, especially now that he is losing minutes to Frank Kaminsky, but he is still playing well over 30 minutes a game with Al Jefferson out. Utah is tough up front even with a hobbled Derrick Favors, but Williams is pretty low risk at this price.

If You’re Cheap:

Frank Kaminsky, Hornets ($4,400): “Frank The Tank” has carved out a nice little role for himself with Al Jefferson out. He isn’t a reliable scorer at this level the way he was at Wisconsin last year, but he does enough on the defense end to keep him relevant, especially for this low of a price. He has been over 4x value in every game but one over his last eight games. He is a low risk punt play.

Jerami Grant, 76ers ($4,200): Noel has much more upside, but Grant is still playing nearly 30 minutes per game. That alone makes him worth taking a chance on since the 76ers don’t have a go-to guy on offense, or defense for that matter.

My picks: Millsap and Kaminsky

Next: Who Is The Best At C?

Jan 20, 2016; Houston, TX, USA; Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond (0) reacts while playing against the Houston Rockets in the first quarter at Toyota Center. Mandatory Credit: Thomas B. Shea-USA TODAY Sports

Center:

Best Bets:

Karl-Anthony Towns, Timberwolves ($8,000): Towns is still experiencing the ups and downs of being a rookie in the NBA, but as he showed on Thursday, he has as much upside as anyone. Towns ate Dallas alive on the interior, racking up 62.9 FanDuel points. Towns has not been under 30 FanDuel points since January 15th. He also doesn’t get into nearly as much foul trouble as Andre Drummond, making him less of a risk.

DeAndre Jordan, Clippers ($7,800): Jordan is averaging 35.2 FanDuel points since Blake Griffin went down, making him comfortably above 4.5x value on any given night. If you don’t want the headaches of Drummond of the inexperience of Towns, Jordan is a reliable second tier option.

Honorable Mention:

Andre Drummond, Pistons ($8,200): Drummond was having a great 2016 until two clunkers against Denver and Utah in his last two games. Still, he has the most upside of any center taking the court tonight due to his ridiculous rebounding totals. He should have no problem getting back on track against Philadelphia.

Rudy Gobert, Jazz ($7,200): Gobert worked over Detroit on Monday for 17 points and 17 rebounds, landing him at 41.9 FanDuel points. I think it’s safe to say he is back to his pre-injury form, and safe to deploy in DFS formats once again.

If You’re Cheap:

Nikola Jokic, Nuggets ($5,300): The roulette wheel has landed on Jokic over the last two games. Jokic has had 37.5 FanDuel points in each of the last two games, and is the starter at center for Denver. But we all know that can change at any time up until tipoff. If you are willing to take the risk, he could be a huge reward.

Alex Len, Suns ($4,700): The Suns’ frontcourt is almost fully healthy again, and the team has given Len 30+ minutes per night instead of the veteran Tyson Chandler. Len has responded with three straight games of more than 32 FanDuel points. Who can complain about nearly 8x value?

My Pick: Jordan

Next: Is Ish Smith The Real Deal?

Good luck out there!
