Minnesota Timberwolves rookie Karl Anthony-Towns made a sick shot over his shoulder and the backboard after the whistle.

The sickest shots in basketball always seem to come after the buzzer. That was the case Wednesday night, when Minnesota Timberwolves rookie forward Karl Anthony-Towns made a shot that raised coolness level.

After a stop in action against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Anthony-Towns took the loose ball and calmly threw it right up behind his shoulder as he ran out of bounds. He also happened to throw it up over the backboard and hit nothing but net as well.

That’s the type of coolness that got Anthony-Towns in the NBA Rising Stars Challenge during NBA All-Star Weekend. Well, that and his impressive play on the court that his him in contention for the NBA Rookie of the Year award.

That’s not an easy shot to do and the way he did it so calmly makes it worth watching over and over. He probably couldn’t even try to do that if he tried again.

If there was some form of trick-shot contest at the All-Star Weekend, this would be the perfect shot for him to do. At the very least, he could hustle his teammates in practice with a shot like this.
