Fantasy Basketball: Fantasy Impact Of A Jeff Teague Trade

Fantasy Impact Of A Jeff Teague Trade
There are literally tons of rumors about Jeff Teague being traded away from Atlanta. Today a rumor surfaced that it is also a possibility that Al Horford could be traded. With all of these potential rumors flying around there is a real good chance that someone is getting traded out of Atlanta.
In the deal that Frank Isola mentioned above sending Jeff Teague to the Orlando Magic for Victor Oladipo I am afraid that there will be more fantasy losers than winners. Probably the biggest winner in that and all scenarios is going to be Dennis Schroder. Schroder stands to get a ton of minutes and a ton of opportunities as the starting point guard with the Hawks.
Jeff Teague will likely if he goes to Orlando almost completely destroy the value of Elfrid Payton. I also don’t think that Victor Oladipo will gain any value either. The Hawks have been pretty happy with the play of Kent Bazemore and likely Oladipo would wind up in a timeshare with him there.
One of my favorite scenarios has Teague heading to New York to become a Knick. That would kill the value of Jose Calderon, but if your team is counting on Calderon you are likely not in the running for anything in your league anyways, unless of course it is a very deep league.

Another scenario has the Hawks and the Pacers swapping George Hill and Teague. I think that Teague would fit in well in the Pacers offense, but I am not sure exactly where that Hawks would use Hill. He has the ability to play off guard as well as run the point, but could be more suited as an off guard. Of course as we mentioned above the Hawks are pretty set at the two and like what they have there.
At least one other team has reportedly expressed interest in Teague and that is the Utah Jazz. The Jazz have had very little luck at the point guard position in the past few seasons and this could be the best place for the rest of this season for Teague. Trey Burke has just never lived up to what the Jazz would like to see out of him and Dante Exum is out for the season. Raul Neto would not hamper Teague’s value at all in Utah.

So the main thing you want to do here is make sure that Dennis Schroder is stashed across every league you are in and maybe even float an offer or two out to any owner has Schroder and is living under a rock and not realizing Teague could be dealt.
