Thunder Trade Rumors: OKC close to getting Randy Foye
The Thunder are reportedly in talks with the Denver Nuggets regarding veteran guard Randy Foye
The Oklahoma City Thunder are a team that could certainly use a bit of a shake-up on their roster as they move forward to try and compete with the Golden State Warriors in the Western Conference. However, things have been relatively quiet in OKC leading up to the 2016 NBA Trade Deadline, yet the team might be making a push for a trade with the Denver Nuggets for veteran guard Randy Foye.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, the Thunder and Nuggets are in “advanced talks” regarding a deal that would send the highly coveted Foye to OKC:
Though there’s obviously no word as to what the Thunder would be sending back in return, but you’d have to assume that it would be something along the lines of an expiring deal like Steve Novak that the Nuggets could then waive in addition to draft picks.
As for what Randy Foye would bring to the Thunder, he’s the ideal type of player that they should be looking to add for the rest of the season. He’s a veteran presence that’s been well spoken of in regards to his locker room presence, but could also provide a bit of a spark on the wings off of the bench for the Thunder, something they’ve desperately been missing for much of this season.
It’s still wait and see as to if anything materializes from this deal, but with how much sense that it makes for the Thunder, it’s hard to imagine them not seeing this through.
