Minnesota Timberwolves rookie center Karl-Anthony Towns couldn’t get any love from his teammates at the free throw line.
It doesn’t matter how good a rookie is in the NBA, they’re always going to get the rookie treatment from other players on the roster. Minnesota Timberwolves rookie center Karl-Anthony Towns has been sensational this season and has everyone believing about basketball in Minnesota again. Despite all that, Towns isn’t immune from being treated like a rookie.
While Towns was at the free throw line against the New York Knicks on Saturday night, Towns was given the cold shoulder by his teammates and left hanging, as he reach for a high five after his free throw attempt.
However, Towns was persistent and was going to get his high fives no matter what. Eventually, both Andrew Wiggins and Shabazz Muhammad gave in and finally hit Towns back with a high five. That’s just the life of being a rookie in the NBA.
One minute you’re on top of the league and the next you’re getting left hanging at the free throw line by your teammates. The good news for Towns is that the season only has a couple months remaining and then he will be able to leave next year’s rookies hanging.
