NBA Daily Fantasy Picks for March 4th
“You can’t win unless you learn how to lose.” ~ Kareem Abdul-Jabbar
As a NBA daily fantasy player, we understand that in DFS, there is often more losing than winning. It takes time to craft an elite daily fantasy team. Losing is essential in Daily Fantasy Sports, as long as we can learn from our past mistakes.

But of course… no one is planning on losing today!
Tonight, we got an enormous slate tonight with 20 teams, meaning we’re going to have to sift through an ocean of approximately 130 players to find the ten that will lead us to the fantasy holy land. Here are my targets that may help you get there.
Next: Who To Use At PG?
Point Guards
Isiah “Not The Bad Boy One” Thomas $7,800 / Suggested output ~ 35.2
No need to go too expensive at PG today.
Instead, look at the job Brad Stevens has done turning around the Celts. They’re playing great up-tempo basketball, and the man who is flourishing is Isiah Thomas. Thomas has shown the ability to hand it to the Knicks — the last three times the Celts and Knicks squared off, Thomas topped 30 FDP’s. The Knicks are below average against the PG position, and I expect Boston to steamroll the Knicks, who are on a 2-11 cold streak.
“The New Lake Show” D’Angelo Russell $6,000 / Suggested output ~ 28
Kobe Bryant, Louis Williams, and Jordan Clarkson are banged up and are game-time decisions. That leaves the Ohio State product to dominate the backcourt for the Lakers. Russell has crushed his value over the past four games, and is finally getting the opportunity at PG to show off the talents that made him the #2 overall pick in the NBA draft. Although he is squaring off against a game Atlanta Hawks team, that should limit exposure in GPP’s, and make him an intriguing play.
Dennis “I’m not the pirate from Captain Phillips” Schroder $5,100 / Suggested output ~ 24.4
Make no mistake about it — Schroder is outplaying counterpart Jeff Teague. Schroder received more minutes than Teague last game against Golden State, and when Schroder gets the minutes, he hits value. Against a lowly LA Laker team surrendering 46.5 FDP’s to opposing PG’s, I love Schroder as a bargain play in a possible blowout.
Other options: Goran Dragic, Ricky Rubio, Elfrid Payton
Shooting Guard
“Look at the Flip of that Bic” Victor Oladipo $6,600 / Suggested Output ~ 30.4
He’s playing Phoenix.
He’s been playing well over the past ten, hitting value in six contests and he’s playing Phoenix.
Oladipo can do a little bit of everything and has been a steady source of points.
Psssttt…. He’s playing Phoenix. Play em.
Dwayne “No need to fade” Wade $7,500 / Suggested Output ~ 34
Dwayne Wade has found the fountain of youth. Despite the addition of Joe Johnson, who may trip up his value occasionally, Wade has been showing out. With Chris Bosh out, Wade has picked up the slack and has logged 30+ minutes over his last six. And he’s playing the Sixers, who are ill with a case of the Hinkies. Ride Wade and the Heat tonight.
Khris “Stuck in the” Middleton $7,900 / Suggested Output ~ 35.6
He’s having a career year in points, threes and assists. He’s more than justifying his $70M contract, posting 30+ FDP’s over his last nine games. Middleton gets a match-up against the Minnesota Timberwolves, who have played poorly against SG’s. In a game with an O/U of 208 points, I like Middleton as a proven commodity.
Other options: Monta Ellis, Andrew Wiggins
Small Forward
Jae “I’ll have a bowl of that New England Clam” Crowder $6,200 / Suggested Output ~ 28.8
He’s hit value in six of his last nine, and contributes in all statistical categories. He’s gonna get Melo on the match-up in a game with one of the higher O/U’s. Melo hit a “rough patch” and tonight, I’m a Boston guy through and through. Crowder is a cheaper target with a decent floor with a nice ceiling, a nice combo in DFS.
“You don’t know” Bojan “If Young Metro don’t trust you” Bogdanovich $4,000 / Suggested Output ~ 20
Yes, he deserves two nicknames.
And through the grapevine, I heard Young Metro trusts Bojan on the DFS platform.
Since moving into the starting lineup since Joe Johnson’s buyout, Bogdanovich has crushed fantasy value, posting 26.7 and 31.2 FDP’s over the last two games. He produces in points and rebounds, both of which should be readily available against the Denver Nuggets. Bojan is a great bargain play at this price.
Mario “Michael Jackson sound” Hezonja $3,800 / Suggested Value 19.2
Even with Evan Fournier set to return, let’s have the Mario Party continue! In his last outing, Hezonja got 8x his value, posting a 34 FDP performance. Against Phoenix, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the youngster get good burn, and if this game turns into a blowout, this could be a great bargain play, but buyer beware, there is a lot of bust potential if the bevy of other Orlando players contribute.
Others: LeBron James, Shabazz Muhammad, Giannis Antetokounmpo
Power Forward
Aaron “Excuse me… A A RON” Gordon $6500 / Suggested Value 30
There hasn’t been a more consistent go-to option for me over the past ten games than Aaron Gordon, whose ability to contribute in all stat categories is invaluable in the DFS landscape.
And he squares off against Phoenix… who’s dead last in guarding the PF position.
Do I need to mention he’s playing Phoenix? I hope you’re noticing a pattern here.
Kristaps “Taps on Taps on Taps” Porzingis $6,500 / Suggested Value 30
As much as I love Boston, they don’t do well against opposing big men. Although Porzingis’ minutes have been trending downward, I think he’ll see 30+ minutes against a bitter division rivals.

The J-Notes
Porzingis hasn’t had a monster game in a while, but he’s been holding steady. He’s gotten double doubles against the Celts previously in the season, and I think he’s ripe for “anotha one”!
Jared “Or Jablue” Sullinger $6200 / Suggested Value 28.8
When Kelly Olynyk went down with injury, I was relieved — I could play Boston big men! Sullinger has seen the most consistent minutes, and he’s been pairing that with some big games. This is a prime opportunity for him to pack on a strong double double and hit 30 GDP’s.
Other options: Jabari Parker, Myles Turner, Tristan Thompson, Amar’e Stoudemire (50-50’s)
Centers
Hassan “Walter” Whiteside $8,600 / Suggested Value 38.4
Heisenburg will dominate the terminally ill Sixers, especially with Noel and Okafor hampered by injuries and questionable to play. This is a 20-20 type game for Hassan Whiteside, whose been going bananas in terms of fantasy production off the bench.
Al “Hisford or” Horford $7,800 / Suggested Value 34.2
The Lake Show have been dreadful against opposing centers, and in a game that will have a higher pace, look for Horford to get you at least 30 FDP’s, with a ceiling of 40 or 50.
Alex Len $5,300 / Suggested Value 25.2
Alex Len doesn’t need a nickname because Alex Len does what Alex Len does.
Three double doubles over the past three games is pretty good, and in a game with the highest projected over/under of the slate, Len will get a chance to tackle an Orlando team who prefers offense over defense. I think Len will get you good value at a cheap center tag, in case you want to pay up for a higher end PG or SF.
Other options: Jonas Valanciunas, Karl-Anthony Towns, Nikola Vucevic
